PANASONIC LUMIX GX7 LAUNCH
Worked with NON ASSOCIATES INC and Panasonic LUMIX in Osaka, Japan to shoot the campaign for LUMIX's GX7 camera launch. Two Magnum photographers, Ian Berry and Thomas Dworzak, along with Koji Euda and myself each shot a series for the launch. My shoot brought me to Kyoto, Japan to document a day in the life of a maiko, an apprentice training to become a geisha. Following is the intro and captions and promo video that accompanied my work in their campaign.---
"In one of the world's most modern countries, just one street away from the bustling district in Kyoto, you can visit the hanamachi district and step back in time. The Geisha tradition in Japan has been carefully preserved for more than 300 years, and it begins with Maiko, the young apprentice. I came to Kyoto to document a day in the life of a Maiko, and open a window into this unknown world."
